Gary, exactly what I have minus the rail mounts. On mine the pockets are just screwed to the inside of the gunnels. with all the load on the fastners in shear they are way strong enough. (I've proved that with one bottom hangup and a busted cable) Norm

Patrick, I'm not sure how high your new motor will be but my Etec is low enough that the table top could be just about level with the top of the motor well. It would need to be hinged to allow the motor to tilt up but that may be even less of a factor with the 12" jackplate you are putting on...

No Patrick, Mine does not have that effect. Remember mine has the bulkhead and door like her big sisters. Definitely the way to go IMHO. Norm

On my buddys' little Arima we built a removable hinged table that goes over the motor well out of starboard. Sorry I don't have a picture handy but it is similar to the one the Arima factory sells for their boats. It does seem to block a lot of the noise. Also provides some nice usable space...

I looked at the same info a few months ago. Then when I was up at EQ having my new motor installed Les had the right size for my 18 sitting there in the shop. I bought it but have not used it yet. Will let you know though when I do. Norm

Jim, Nice F27. A friend of mine had one for several yrs. It's what I learned to sail on. I could never be happy on a monohull after that. I was bummed when he sold it. He's been rebuilding an F24 that should be on the water soon. Nice way to get my wind driven fix. Norm

Byrdman, I agree with using someone locally that can do it the way YOU want it. If for some reason however that you decide to go with canvas riggers give me a buzz and I'll drag mine up there to use as a pattern. Us 18 owners gotta stick together. Norm
