Wash Down System 22' Cruiser

Hello, I am a new owner of a new to me 2005 22' cruiser named "Sea Ram". I am interested in installing a wash down system and have not found any threads on the topic. I am curious to know where people are installing their through hull fittings and the best epoxy to use to seal the core. Also any advice on the best brands of wash down units with price point/performance in mind.
 
I did not want to add holes to the boat, so I have been using a Seaflo portable unit stored between the fuel tanks. I mostly use it to rinse off the boat in fresh lake water after coming through the Ballard locks from saltwater. The plug goes into a custom-wired Scotty/Marinco downrigger plug with an inlet hose dangling over the side of the boat. In the event that I need to rinse with potable fresh water, stick the inlet hose into a bucket or the fresh water tank.

Although I might opt for this kit if I did it again, since it includes the inlet hose:

For a permanent install I would run an inlet hose/pipe over the transom rather than using a thru-hull. At least I'd start with that and see how it goes.
 
The PO of my boat had a wash down system that had a pickup down the back of the transom.

What does the portable wash down kit cost to purchase?

I just finished installing a Maxwell Windlass. That was a chore. Seems like a well made product.

Kotello, Welcome aboard! In the 25'S and Tom Cat 255, the thruough hull fitting is in the floor of the hanging locker. In a 22, I would put the transducer about 4" tfrom the inboard edge of the galley door under the sink/Galley shelves, just forward of the aft cabin bulkhead. I would want a sea strainer in line. Another place might be under the floor board in the 22. ​

The big kit costs around $220 while the smaller kit is $140'ish on Amazon. Plus cobbling together wire and connectors for a Marinco plug, since the kits come with battery terminal clamps or a cigarette lighter plug out of the box.
