    Covered moorage in Olympia WA

Looking for any input on decent covered moorage in Olympia or that general area of the south sound, Budd inlet, etc. Thanks!

    10/15 - 10/29 - 2017 Snake/Columbia River C-Dory Cruise

Im on the Multnomah Channel this morning and it is perfect. Sunny, no wind, flat water. A great little detour to avoid some of the ship traffic.

    winter operation

I was wondering the same things, and plan to leave my 25 in the water all winter. What about leaving the motors tilted up, and flushing them with some safe non-toxic anti-freeze? I have a 12V washdown pump that I'm planning to hook up to a tank or a couple of 5-gal buckets.

    Wallas stove wiring

Thanks, that makes sense. I'll just have to watch my start battery voltage and not let it get too low. I can always fire up the kicker and let it charge the battery for 5-10 minutes. The Suzuki 9.9 fuel injected will start with the recoil starter even if the battery is low (or so they say).

    Wallas stove wiring

When the Wallas was installed on my 25, it was wired directly to the start battery with a in-line fuse. I understand it needs full voltage directly off the batt, but seems to me it should come off of the house batt. Any reason why it should stay on the start batt? I like heat, but not at...

    10/15 - 10/29 - 2017 Snake/Columbia River C-Dory Cruise

I'm thinking about joining from the Kalama dock to Astoria, but I'll have to see what day you get into Kalama. The 25 Cruiser is still new to me, and I'm getting much better at handling it, but not sure I'm up for a round-trip to Astoria quite yet.

CD25 water in the fuel tank area

"First, there's a direct connection between the center of the bilge and the tank compartment." Journey On - I believe you, but on my boat I cannot see any passage between the fuel tank area and the bilge. It is sealed off with a plate and caulked, and I had a completely dry bilge when the...

CD25 water in the fuel tank area

All is well, I pumped out a couple of gallons of water (through the access hole in the steps) and found a small area at the base of one of the steps where the caulking had dried and cracked. I'm going to reseal the steps and all the screws that hold down the sole. What type of caulking does...

CD25 water in the fuel tank area

Thank you, I'll pull a couple of screws from the sole and see if they used any sealant under them. The hatches above the bilge are not sealed, but water that flows in there from the cockpit stays in the bilge and is not supposed to flow into the fuel tank area.

CD25 water in the fuel tank area

On my 25 cruiser there is some water in the hull, below the sole, that you can see when the two round access plates in the side steps are removed. All the interior hatches are dry and the bilge is dry, but this water is trapped and can't flow to the bilge. How does it get there? The boat sat...

    Exploring before I purchase

As mentioned above, you will need a bigger tow rig for the 25 or 26. I have a F250 diesel that is set up for heavy towing with a 12,000 lb hitch and air bags, and my 25 is a pretty much a full load for this truck. Unfortunately the "standard" EZ Loader 9800lb trailer only has surge brakes, so...

    TyBoo repower

Good choices, and the Suzuki also has a self adjusting timing chain rather than a belt that has to be checked and replaced. My new 25 has a Honda 200 on it which I'm looking forward to running.

    Battery Choices

Are these the "Ever Start" brand that Walmart carries?

    Trailer Bunk Height Adjustment

Thanks for the comments, I'll give those things a try once I get the boat in the water.
