    SOLD - LOADED 2018 Venture

2018 C-Dory Venture 26 with 2019 Suzuki 200hp outboard. 369 Hours. Recent survey in December 2022. My wife and I decided to retire with an RV now instead of working and paying off a boat for years. We are selling it for what we paid even though I put thousands into it ourselves. No, it’s not...

    Motor height vs. permatrim

While I was on plane, I couldn't see the permatrim. I assume it was several inches under the water. I"ll have to look again to verify. But sitting on the trailer, the permatrim is about 1.5 inches above the bottom of the hull.. Given those two conditions, you would think that the water at...

    Motor height vs. permatrim

Measurements say my anticavitation plate is about 1 or 1.5 inches higher than the bottom of the hull. Both are level with a bubble gauge.

    Motor height vs. permatrim

I have to see if I need to raise the motor a hole or two. I have thee sets of fins on the outboard. Now I'm thinking I need to verify what one is parallel with the water. I definitely know its not the bottom one..the actual anti-V plate. I need to see if its the next one up or the one above...

    Motor height vs. permatrim

Finally installed my permatrim on my Venture 26 with 200hp Suzuki. Didn't realize any difference. MPG seemed down a tad. On my Suzuki, there are two sets of horizontal fins. The lower on is obvious the anti-ventilation plate. About 2.5 inches above it there is a 2nd smaller rib, but it still...

    Thrusters on a C-Dory

I"ve had them, bow and stern on a 30ft. Really nice and handy. I've also had them leak and suck in hidden lines. Gear lube leaks as well as water. I like the the simplicity of a C-dory. Even if I had the money, likely would not add one. Just more to go wrong. Small ones may not be as...

    Need to look harder.

I'm putting my marine head back in and pulling the urine diverting toilet out. Things have changed under the sink. I have an inverter, autopilot controller, pump, solar charger, and other things the previous owner installed. All done neatly, but not sure if he covered or pulled the vent.. I...

White pastes I see on water hoses, sewer hoses, and such?

Thanks. Will use that Teflon paste to assist.

White pastes I see on water hoses, sewer hoses, and such?

What is the white paste used to help seal hoses on barbs like the raw water pump, sewer lines, etc.? I've seen white paste used for "threaded" pipes, but not sure what the goo is that is on hoses with barbs. It seems pliable after years of being on my old hoses; still tackey..

Steering is very stiff left and ok to right. Autopilot stall

Yes, I call it pointing (the tip) to port, you all call it pointing (tail) to starboard. Same, same. Now I get it. Yours is certainly pointed more than mine. I'll move mine around. As for the auto pilot, I think 22 is also less beam plus 100ph less. I'll do the tab before I play with the...

Steering is very stiff left and ok to right. Autopilot stall

Sounds about in line with my thoughts and peoples comments. Next outing I will bring a ratchet and socket and move it around while on the water. Then I will see if the autopilot also works better (it may be under sized)

Steering is very stiff left and ok to right. Autopilot stall

The SeaStar website says a Suzuki 200 4cyl needs a HC5345-3 cylinder. The SeaStar HC5345-3 says it is: 8.34 Cubic inches in volume capacity. This is an assumption since I don't know what ram cylinder I have. On the Garmin site it says: 1.0 Liter pump: Used for single-cylinder applications...

Steering is very stiff left and ok to right. Autopilot stall

I just looked at my pictures. I have a 1.0 L pump. Garmin says, "Cruising applications only; for single engine outboard vessels less than 30' long for cylinder sizes up to 10 cubic inches" Guess I need to know my cylinder size.
