Well, other posts clued me in. Its just held in by the rubber insert and some strategic tapping with a piece of wood loosened everything up.

I was able to remove the runner pieces in the top track but the "handle?" - the aluminum bar on the back edge of the window - keeps me from being able to lift out the window. I assume I need to remove it but no clue how and don't want to damage it. Ideas?

I lived in Blaine for a couple of years and made the GS run all the time in my 16 angler. As others have noted, watch the weather. For me the hardest to predict was the late afternoon summer NW that can come up fast. I kept overnight gear and food in the boat just in case but never had to use...

X2 Falco's question I have tried hanging a small (6HP) motor upside down. Supposed to be the trick if the splines have stuck to the fly wheel and therefore drive shaft came out stuck in the upper unit versus lower. It worked. Took about 4 days. But not sure how to do that with a 50 HP...

Seems like it would be hard to get it to track well at trolling speed. And no live bait well?

Thanks for the question and response. Believe it or not I was headed to the boat shelter to replace the old post on my 16'angler and saw this. Perfect! I found what looks to be a good fit at fisheriessupply.com in Seattle. But simply using a cooler and foam may be an even better idea.
