    C Dory 25 transom

My name is Jared. That should clear up all the mystery  Goodness gracious. As for apologizing at the site of a minor auto accident, actually, yes I have done so at one time in a minor accident when I was clearly at fault. On another occasion when the other driver was at fault, he...

    C Dory 25 transom

We all agree with that. Stuff happens now and then. Good companies fix it quickly the first time and live goes on. But this does not look like a minor quality control problem limited to one hull. It looks like a significant design failure. This isn't a "they promised me 4 batteries, but...

    C Dory 25 transom

Mysterious in what way? Auto manufacturers regularly recall vehicles. They regularly specify the VIN numbers of the vehicles affected by the recalls. Many now recommend that doctors should apologize for mistakes. Turns out that apologizing often heads off lawsuits. Imagine that...

    C Dory 25 transom

I've been mostly a lurker here for some time. I don't have a C-Dory yet, but it's certainly a boat I've been considering for the future. I have to say, however, that these quality and design issues are of great concern to me. But perhaps a greater concern to me has been the response in this...

    C-Dory in Alaskan water?

Keep your head down, your body armor on, and check six. Come home safe.

    Anchorage AK Visit

I second the suggestion for the Kenai Peninsula. Easy driving from Anchorage and Homer is neat little town.

New England news coverage// C-Dory Boatshow Review

If they were only paraphrased, then either 1) you were extremely lucky, or 2) you are being way too generous to the reporter. My experience with a small, no-name newspaper that you've never heard of before (The New York Times) was more along the lines of "made up out of whole cloth."

Sweet lookin' heaters! I've got two Kimber Compacts -- one steel-framed and one aluminum-framed. I usually carry the AL-frame (big surprise). I had a Kimber Compact Royal Carry as well, but figured 3 Kimber Compacts was a bit much, even for me. Chuck: Who did the bobtail for you? Jardine?

    05/06 - 05/07 - Lake Winnipesaukee, New England

I'd like to stop by. I can't do May 28th, but the rest of the weekends are currently open. I'm boatless.

    Towing a CD22 with a 2005 Honda Odyssey

the Odyssey is front-wheel drive. The slope of the ramp and the weight on the trailer hitch transfer weight away from the drive wheels. That would not help traction...

No, it's a small piece of lead without much powder behind it. A .410 slug is about 110 grains and has about 760 ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle. In other words, the .410 slug is lighter in weight than the typical 9mm pistol bullet (which ranges from 115 gr to 147 gr). A .410 slug is NOT...

    Firearms onboard

All guns are compromises, so realize that there is no "ideal" gun. Look at your situation, your skills, and decide what works best for you. Anytime someone says the "ideal" defensive gun is X -- well, it makes me wonder... A .410 seems rather light for me. I wouldn't use one on a black bear...

    weight down the road

V8 4Runner is rated to tow 7000 lbs. I don't know that I'd actually try towing that much with it, but it ought to handle 5000 lbs. Mileage won't be great -- I get 17.5-18.5 all around. Maybe 20 mpg on the highway at 65 mph with cruise engaged. No way will it get 25 mpg, but I doubt the...

    4Runner owners, info needed

If you check Toyota's web site, I think you'll find that the 4WD V8 4Runner has a tow rating of 7000 lbs while the Sequoia has a tow rating of only 6500 lbs. So if the 4Runner won't handle it, then the Sequoia won't either... No, I don't have any experience towing with my 2003 4WD V8 4Runner.
