maybe i'm missing something but isn't there a soft vinyl boot covers for them? mine has covers and the oil doesn't splatter out.

Do you have the standard set of tools that came with the motor? Mine doesn't fit too well either so I just use the tool kit to remove it. Don't forget that these are aluminum blocks. You have to use anti-seize on the threads before replacing them.

Hey Joe, Sounds like Permatrim may be enough. I'm trying to keep the bow down in 1' chops to increase speed and ease the ride. SF bay is just too windy for a smooth ride. I'll give Permatrim a try. Thanks.
