I went down this road a few years ago. I liked the Yamaha 25 for the power to weight ratio and efi. That said, if you don't have a good dealer to go to for
parts and service, you might as well buy some good oars.
No need to remove tanks. ASV's are on top of the tanks and in the front. They connect to the fitting that holds the fuel pickups. You should be able to look
at the side of the tanks in the bilge area and determine if you have Moeller tanks. If so, you can view the parts at the Moeller...
The fuel pickups in the tanks have probably deteriorated/ disintegrated. Also, the anti-siphon valves on the tanks may be in need of replacement. Have you checked to see if the vent hoses have collapsed?
The ASV is a hose barb with a check valve. You will see them in aluminum and
brass if you go to Moeller's site. Some believe the brass to be better, but I found that the aluminum have a brass insert. The check valves have a tendency to get stuck if the boat is not run frequently. They are...
