Yep, It's ALL Your Fault!

Well, I just got back from E.Q. today -- err, uh, maybe that was yesterday and I haven't been to bed yet. Anyway, I left there with a sales receipt in my wallet. Now, you MUST know that you are ALL responsible for this! Why if I had NOT scanned the various topics on this board learning about engine choices, heaters, trim tabs, and how you all LOVED your boats, well, I may have just dreamed about owning a boat like these darned C-Dorys. But NO! You just couldn't just leave well enough alone, could you?

So, with your help and the help of a whole lot of former presidents, I purchased a new 22' Cruiser. You're probably wanting to know all the sorted details, so here's what I've ordered (dare I say) so far:

22' Cruiser -- Black
High Top
Forward Facing Seat
Wallas
Electric Wipers
Sprint 600 Windlass
Hydraulic Trim Tabs
Hydraulic Steering
Swim-step w/ladder
Evinrude 90 E-TEC
Raymarine C-80 Super System
Raymarine RAY54 VHF

Should I thank ALL of you for the great information found on this site, the same great stuff that got me to this point, or... Well, maybe when my new boat gets delivered all can be forgiven. But then again, I'll still need to buy an inflatable that can float two horses. For now, as I head for bed, I'll just consider just how I might mount that radar dome.

C-Serpent-

Congratulations! You hung around too long and now you've got the bug! Only now you have to go through the waiting, the worst part!

Anatomy of the illness:

1. Exposure / Catching It - Lurking around, reading all this crazy "I'm in love with my C-Dory stuff!

2. Incubation Period / Succumbing to the Disease - Placing the order/ searching for a used boat.

3. First Stage / Initial Outbreak -Get out the wallet, you gotta pay for the boat, plus tons of additional goodies you hadn't planned on!

4. Second Stage / Confinement to the Sanitorium- Relegated to attending all C-Brat Conventions possible and spending all remaining weekends either fishing, cruising, working on the boat, or going through withdrawl symptoms!

5. Third Stage / Re-Infection- Suddenly you find yourself inventing reasons to go out and buy a newer or bigger C-Dory to prove your commitment to this seemingly innocuous addiction!

6. Final Stage / Delusions of Grandeur- Stuck in an endless cycle of buying a new C-Dory and motor every year while searching for the optimum C-Dory boat & motor package, all the while entertaining your friends with your wisdom and wit as you enjoy your retirement to the fullest!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Ain't that the truth, if ya can't git out on the boat for a few days ya start going through withdrawal

Welcome from Guemes C-Serpent. Nice to have another C-Brat in the area. When do you take delivery?. Les will be doing the electronics on the new 25 in early May. Probably bump into you over there.

Hey Dogon Dory, Is that a picture of you using your boat as a camper while out ice fishing?

Not sure yet when to expect the new 'arrival' but I think Les might have said something like the end of April or early in May. But then again, looking back at the events that took place that day I may not have been thinking too well that day...

You know, all this waiting around for my new boat to get built, to get delivered to Les, to get outfitted with all the gear --- oh my! Maybe I'll just have to go out to get one of those little inflatable boats with a 2hp on the back to play around with while I wait. Yea, that's just what I'll do!

... this doesn't mean that I'm ALREADY scaling DOWN, does it? Well, this sickness is way more serious than I had imagined.

C-Serpent - congrats, and welcome aboard! Come down to Cornet Bay this weekend, if you are not already planning to do that - I am pretty sure you can hitch a ride on somebody's boat for the day cruise...

C-Wolf - Crap! Only two years into it, and we are Third Stage already (check signature)? Does Primera cover Final Stage?
