Yellowstone River Float

The 46th annual Yellowstone Boat Float will be held July 9, 10, and 11th starting at Livingston and ending at Columbus, about 85 River miles. The towns of Livingston, Big Timber and Reed Point furnish camp spots and some food and I think even a street dance. I have paddled all of this but never in a group. I am not involved but received some posters to put up,etc. The Yellowstone R. is considered the longest undamned River in the lower 48, and at normal flows this portion is a class two rating. The most popular boat is a Raft, but drift boats and canoes are also represented. If any brats are interested call The Big Timber Sherriff's Dept at 406-932-5143 or the Waterhole Saloon at 406-326-9919.

Ahh, the memories! Many years ago prior to this event's "1st Annual Yellowstone Boat Float", I floated the Yellowstone from Livingston to Billings in segments. Truly an enjoyable time on the river, however it was not without mishaps. Three to be exact. One of the mishaps occurred with another raft that was with our group, the other two occurred personally. The first mishap involved going over a small diversion dam (did you say no dams?) and the second involved a surprise log jam...almost didn't survive that one!
