We have just been informed that there will be very limited numbers of Yamaha outboards available this year. While the small motors seem to have a fair level of stock, the larger (70 hp and up) will be very hard to find if a dealer does not already have it in stock.
If your plans this year include a repower or buying new, plan to get it done as soon as possible. I have heard of dalers already charging more than a month ago for motors because of lack of availability.
Suzuki still syas they are ok with stock, and Evinrude is built in the US, so they expect to be okay. We have heard that Mercury may have issues with 30 HP and under (Tohatsu built).
Last year we went from April to November being unable to get Yamaha 115's and 150's as well as limited stock of control boxes. I expect this year will be worse.
