wiper blades?

Most auto supply stores, NAPA Auto Zone, even Wally world etc--have the flat blades and refills. I find them less expensive than at West--but you have to look and see what is available in your area.

I just replaced mine with blade from Shucks auto. Made the mistake of ASSUMING that they were the same size. Mine were 12" on the starboard side and 14" on the port side....

Ask your auto supply store to order the blades that are used on the old Willys Jeep with the folding windshields. They can get the refills or complete blade assenblies that just pop onto the arms.

Ripple,
I've found that good, old-timey auto parts stores usually stock them. I seem to remember they were common on older VW Beetles, and they often have a few if you take the old one along for comparison. Around here most of the chain stores (AutoZone, O'Reilly's, and such) don't carry them.

Good Luck!

Mike

I have only replaced my wiper blades once in 24 yrs. Wished I could remember where I got the last ones as they have lasted a long time. That CRS is a bad disease.
Years ago I found an old Trico maually operated windshield washer set-up in a truck in a junk yard. It has a 1 qt. reservoir, a manual round rubber pump and 1/8" hoses. I mounted the resv near my feet on the helmsman panel, the pump on the dash and ran the tubing up along and over to the middle of the windshield. Drilled a small hole in the fiberglass and stuck the tubing out about 1/4". When the salt spray gets bad I just squeeze the pump and clean, fresh washer fluid dribbles on the outside, turn on t he wiper and the window cleans up like new. $5 investment. :D

Thanks for all the replys. Still no luck finding anything local..., I tried West Marine, Wal Mart, couple of auto part stores.

They had the flat wiper blades at the West Marine in Galveston, TX.

Our local tractor parts stores carry the flat blades.

I think Freeport Marine has the flat blades up in the NE.

Maybe getting an online catalog to West, or some other supplier.

maybe a C-Dory dealer could help you, or the factory.

John

My blades are more conventional (factory), but the length is difficult to find, so I buy whatever length the auto store has and cut it to fit the original metal sleeve -- works fine!

Buy the whole blade of the correct length(s) -plastic wiper arm and all. Then take out the blade and throw the wipe arm away.
