all this talk of winterization is depressing.

Tell me about it. I just finished today and put the tarp over it. You guys should have a few more weeks of good weather left down there.

I also did my engines today. Oil, oil filter, lower unit etc.
Tomorrow the cover goes on my boat after the flushing and Salt-away treatment. As I have said before that is the worst day of my life when I have to cover the boat up until next April.
Yesterday and the day before I was out of Homer with my neighbor in his 34'x12' Bayweld boat. Twin 250 Yamahas and all kinds of gadgets and navigation goodies. We ran about 100 miles each day. At $5/mile the fuel bills are killers. He could care less as he can afford it. I am glad he did not ask me to fill it up at $450 per day.
It is a nice boat, performs well but I would not trade it for my C-Dory.

I'm going to try to get out a few more times before deer season, and I suspect once the cabin fever sets in this winter I'll get it out here and there, but probably just lakes. as cold and dark as it is here, we are still quite fortunate to not have the freezes you guys have further north.
