I am getting ready to start the winter modifications on my 19' angler Rover as a lot of you know she is almost new and no modifications have been done. My job this winter (along with other things) is to get her ready for Coast Guard Auxiliary Facility inspection as well as make her functional in this role. I can think of no better way to make a list than to call on the Brats with there wisdom and experience with the C-Dory.
VHF antenna In the photos I see them mounted all over the place. I have rivers and low bridges so must be able to drop the antenna. concern about the 1 Meter from your head. The radar rack has only tubes could not find a mounting bracket that would work. Where should it be mounted?
Towing from the stern I would love to here your Ideas. Are the u-bolts mounted well enough? If not to reinforce them I would have to pull the fuel tanks?
Batteries need terminals protected.
Cleats need Backing to be legal.
Flag mounting I have some Ideas would like to have yours. Don't forget the auxiliary flag.
The 13.5X15 prop is about right on my rivers I need a spare do I get the same or change for a higher load? Honda 90 how big a dia will it swing?
What else needs or should be done ??????

Thank you for your help and looking forward to your comments.
I will keep you informed as I work along.

I know of 2 C-Dorys that are USCG AUX facilities. Barry on C-Cakes and David on Anna Leigh(sp). Hope they will chime in here. I would like to do the same but lack the time until after retirement.

I bet there is a USCG AUX website that lists minimum requirements. Seems like I remember that one of them is for 2 VHFs. Other than that, I have no idea. Check out the albums for those two, and that may be a start.

Good luck and enjoy,

Thank you for your input I did not think about the questions being general. I am looking for help specific to the C-Dory and how people made the modification and there logic. This way I do not have to make as many mistakes.
