After last week, I have the bug
I know what you mean. We've still got 3 weekends left! I'm trying to get out there as much as possible since this season's been so great. So what have you been catching with?

Peter

Has anyone had any action at Possession Point or Race Track last weekend? I'm thinking about going out this weekend. Point No Point is alittle far for me tootling along :D

If you want some bigger fish but less of them the north area of 8 has been putting out some bigger fish. WDFG weighted a 26 lbser last week and many more 20lbers have been coming out of the baby island, green bank area and I heard from the whale watchers in that area about large schools of bait that can be seen from the beach and cliffs. Susan and I will be fisihing and then golfing hat island on saturday with our puget sound anglers club. one of the members is a resident of the island and we are going to fish in the morning then golf at 10 to noon them bbq at the marina. should be a lot of fun. I think that anyone can show up. golf and moorage has to be paid for by you but the bbq is free. Should be fun.

Midchannel is supposed to be hot with some decent-sized fish. However, after a late start and a longish day, we didn't touch one--lots of birds and more seals than I thought lived in Puget Sound, so there should be fish there. Talked to several boats on the water, including the C-Dory Sunfish, but only one boat reported a lost fish...nothing in the box.

It was a nice day, though. Maybe it was too nice?

Keith

Mid channel bank refers to the area just out of port townsend, between port townsend and marrow stone point. folks fish the outside edge at 90 to 120 ft deep. fish with the tide.

Finally caught a keeper! :teeth :thup Fished Pilot Point to Point No Point Saturday morning. We caught a just barely legal 22" blackmouth between both points at around slack. We caught five other shakers, a couple just under the limit at around 20", the others around 16". All in all, it was a good day on the water.

Beautiful fish Marty. You must be a good teacher chromer. Yeah, PNP has been putting them out all winter. Too bad it ends on the 15th.

Byrdman, thanks for the kind words as always. You da man.

Peter

My dads neighbor went out Tuesday the 3rd and took a friend who had never been fishing in puget sound.
they caught the small one first and then were able to land the 14 & 16 pounders later in the day

Hey Roger Man!!! Now is this not the same man that got onto us....or was talking to you when you and I went out crabbing that day...and his discussion was on all the folks crabbing and fishing up there that "aint locals..."

Looks to have been a great trip...and I wish I had been the non-local

Great fish!

Does anyone know what hatchery or river system(s) are producing the majority of blackmouth being caught in Area 9. I forgot to ask the fish scanner yesterday when we came in.

Tom?
C-Dancer?
Anyone?

chromer,

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question. Wish I did. I do know that this has been the best blackmouth season in years.
