MS still has that near monoply, though, and so many companies are
buying into it. Probably the most annoying thing is the lack of
Shockwave. Unless they've released that now...it's been a while since
I've looked.

I was rather surprised to see that the Lowrance firmware update
utilities run on Windows, MAC and Linux. I ran it from Linux, and it
worked well.
