Hi All,

I'm considering a C-Dory and going to look at an older 22' Angler this week.

Is there anything I should pay close attention to when looking over the boat?

I was only luke warm on the Angler before I started reading more about them. Now I am excited about the platform for my needs, but I want to do my due diligence in being thorough before I make a decision on this purchase.

I'll end up having a pro look at the hull & engine if everything else looks good (lesson learned from a previous experience) ... so I'm primarily looking for any C-Dory specific items to pay close attention to.

Maybe (hopefully) I'll be joining the club soon. :)

This topic comes up here on a regular basis. This site is the best place there is on the planet to find information on anything C-Dory. There is a good search tool in the masthead box, second row, far left. Click on it, and then put in the top box on the left "used AND C-Dory" and you will come up with several pages of listings. You can search for threads or words, all or any. It will fill your afternoon, evening, night and week if you go that far.

C-Dorys listed on this site are usually owned by folks active here and generally they are pretty reliable to be accurate in their descriptions. You can get an idea of how active they are by noting the number of posts in the column on the left under the username.

Good luck with your search, and welcome to the Brat site.

Fair enough. That search bar has been working great at educating me over the last couple days, but this question pushed me to register.

You inspired a little more creative searching though, and it turned up this gem:

BUYING A USED BOAT

Just linking for the next guy who may be searching for this sort of stuff.

Thanks

There is that and more. There are used C-Dorys that show up on Craigs list and other places, and they are usually not known on the list here but the C-Dory is a C-Dory. Folks here on the C-Brats site are probably more likely to take better care of their boat because if they are active here they are more likely to be more interested in taking care of their boat and they are accessing the place where the practical knowledge and experience reside.

Again, good luck and enjoy.
