I am looking to relocate my water tank to the compartment under the berth. I saw a gallery that showed how someone did that, but I can't seem to find it again. Does anyone remember this gallery? Among other things it showed was a slot cut in the bulkhead that allowed the quantity in the tank to be seen.

I would like to find out what tank was used and where he got it.

Thanks.

I thought it was him, but there is nothing in his gallery that shows this mod.

One possibility is that you saw a C-Dory 25 with the tank under the V-berth. I think certain years had it there. I know that Dora~Jean has some photos in a gallery where he cut an access and then marked the tank (in a 25).

I've just been mocking up tanks here and there in my boat (because my original tank sprung a leak, so I decided to get a new tank). For now I think I've decided to go back in the same place. At first I was waffling, because a custom tank was not going to be much more than a new "box" tank, in which case I had a variety of possible locations; but then I found a place that makes the box tanks at a much more economical price (thanks to the archives here), so that made the choice more clear. I still haven't decided between 20 gallons and 27 gallons (I like to swim/rinse).

I thought about putting the tank ahead of the porta-potti area in the V-berth, but decided I wasn't sure about having that much weight that far forward (I can see the plusses to that location though).

See below:

We use the water for dishes and clean up so 25 gallons lasts all summer.
I removed the water tank and built a shelf for the porta-potti to sit level on. Then bought a new 6.5 gallon fuel tank it comes with a vent, gauge and the filler already and installed it in the v berth.I then ran the tubing to the electric water pump and put the squeeze pump before the pump since it has a one way check ball in it. It works great. And frees up space where the p-o-p was at.
Saw the idea for the p-o-p done on another boat.
I will post the pictures in the album[/img]
