West Marine Flyer

Wow! Opened up my mailbox today and got the West Marine sale flyer good for March 15 - April 1 and what graces the cover? The FaCdory Guys boat jumping a wave! Awesome picture. You can't get better advertising. I bet our forum here gets some serious traffic in the wake of this ad.

Not being a dealer, just a schmo fisherman/cruiser on the Long Island Sound..I dont want the C-Dory advertised. I like having the unique and unkown boat out here (took the CD decals off). When folks ask, I just tell 'em its an old maine lobster boat that I restored...some folks actualy buy that..ha! I figure the less of them are around, the more valuable mine is. I traveled far and wandered wide to find mine, took me a long time too. I dont want them as common as stones around here. Sorry, dealers, but that's just me. :hot

Not many of them out this way. I would not go as far as pulling the stickers off. It a niche boat not everyone is going to want one. I also had to search far and wide finally getting mine in South Carolina.

OK now I want to know what West Marine has against me :?: :amgry

I got a "Get Ready to GO BOATING" flyer in the mail and the picture on the front of mine has some dumb center console with a T top on it. Only possible redeaming value is that it does have TWINS :thup :thup What up with that West Marine? Here goes a call tomorrow to WM to get me a right and proper flyer. You all better treasure your highly valuable WM status.

I made several calls to WM today, the catalog number, customer service and several stores. Didn't find any C-Dory ones, or find anyone that knew there were more than one kind of flyer but I did find, the T-Top, a sailboat and the illusive C-Dory is still out there somewhere.

I got the T-top edition, as well. Based on this tiniest of samples, it appears WM may have put a boat that is predominately found on the west coast on the cover of flyers sent to customers on the east coast, and vice versa. Interesting marketing idea, or random mismatch?

I also received the T-Top edition, however I pulled up to my local WM with boat in tow and very soon 2 people came over to check out the boat, the sales staff were also peering out the window to get a looksy.

What a great picture of a Great boat. That's like mine. A 22 foot C-Dory Cruiser. Mine will go on the market this spring. Eqiuiped with a 2009 90HP ETEC. Great motor for a great boat. Bought the boat new in 1990.

After several calls to WM, it appears that the average sales folk have no clue what is going on in the marketing department. For that matter even the customer service folks are baffled. So, I am still looking for a copy of the C-Dory flyer. And Still looking. If anyone finds a tore that has some of those to spare, please let me know SECRETLY    and if I can find a source, I will share too.
