Thinking about getting a Webasto Airtop ST 2000 I believe is the model and I would like to have the SmarTemp control so you can set your temperature.

Any comments on the quiet nature of this vs Wallas vs Espar?

Does anyone know who might sell and/or install these in the Portland, Oregon area?

Thanks for any feeback...appreciate the help!

I have the same Airtop ST2000 on my boat. It's been the best modification I've made, hands down. It's relatively quiet. The fan/white noise eventually gets to a point where I don't even hear it. The only thing I notice is the ticking from the diesel fuel pump, but it's nothing bad at all.

I bought the Airtop ST2000 on eBay which was the basic truck setup. I bought all of the installation parts and additional items (Surewire electronics board and digital thermostat similar to the SmarTemp) from Sure Marine up in Seattle. They also sell the Airtop ST2000, but at the time I found a deal on eBay I couldn't pass up. Sure Marine is excellent. I called them and told them what I wanted to do and they put together a package of all parts that I needed. I installed it in about 3 days along with a 6 gallon diesel fuel tank and new deck fill.

As far as local dealers / installers, I can't help much there. I have used Schooner Creek Boatworks for other mechanical work on my boat. They do good work. The service manager, Pascal, owns a C-Dory 22 so he knows the boats.

Good luck.

Awesome....thanks Rob!!! Greatly appreciate the information!!!

Think I'm headed towards the Webasto but I'd love any additional comments from others.

Know Pat/Patty (Daydream) have it and believe someone installed it for them. Bryrick you should be able to find in the search function who they used.

I'll have to figure out what all I need...the unit itself, install kit (tubing, thru hull, etc.), SmarTemp and electronics board???

Need some heat this fall when it gets colder at night.

Thanks,

John

I put an Espar Airtronic D2 in Discovery a few years ago, never really did use it until this year. It has performed flawlessly for us this summer in South East Alaska. It drops into the low 50's each night and we turn everything off overnight. I can hit the on switch and within 10 minutes or less, the cabin is a toasty 70 degrees. There is a dial that increases or decreases the temperature, but not an actual degree setting. I dial down the heat and we can leave it on all day maintaining a comfortable cabin temp. We use the Wallas for cooking only. I bought the Espar on eBay for about $800.00, it was a truckers model. I had to buy a thru hull fitting to exhaust through the cabin wall, and a few air vent parts. I think they came from Sure Marine in the Seattle area. I can recommend the Espar without reservation. There are pictures of my install in the Discovery photo albums. Espar Airtronic D2 install on a TC255

That would be awesome...yes, please. Was just reading through all of the old posts and I'm pretty sure the Webasto is what I want based on all the input from everyone.

If you want you can email me at frazeys at frontier.com

Thanks in advance!!! Getting excited for having this ready for when the nights need a little warmth.
