I recently helped my neighbor/friend replace the water pump on his ref. motor. He drove the 90 mile round trip to get the new pump kit. Upon dis-assembly he found the plastic sleeve and retaining collar damaged.
The kit DID NOT include those nor the 3 wave washers on top of the retaining collar.
I was in Anchorage (400 mile rt), he called me and I picked up the parts he needed. $22. Why were they not included in the kit.??
It went back together easily with two of us.
One other caveat...there are 7 bolts holding the lower unit on. 6 are obvious but the 7th is hidden by the removeable fin and is longer than the other 6. Never seize on all threads is a good preventive idea.
Now I feel much more at ease when I have to do my 200hp Honda as I am sure they are similar.
We both have 26' CD ProAnglers.
