How can you wash a boat that's been waxed without washing some of the wax away? I've heard that some washing products have a little wax in them which gets added to the wax that is already on the boat.
I use a boat wash that says on the bottle that it will not strip the wax off of the boat. The stuff I'm using right now is Meguiar's Boat and RV. Just bought it at Walmart.
most dish soaps are de greasers so they will take the wax off. Use a product designed for a car to protect the wax on your boat. There are also products that wax as you wash. They are ok for just keeping the wax going during the season.
we use Mer Maids boat wash with 2 percent Carnauba wax. It really works and people are always saying that our boat looks brand new. One of the things I like about it is that it helps maintains the hand done wax.
I use Meguiar's Marine flagship wash and wax. You can use it on your cars too.
I have tried many but this seems to work the best.

Tried something new while washing boat the other day.
Used my hose adapter from West Marine for their "Salt Away" product and put boat soap in the container and then connected the garden hose sprayer to it.
Was able to spray the boat and trailer down with a nice soapy mixture to get that salt off and then rinsed. Not as good as hand scrubbing but a good alternative if time is short or to wash those hard to get places underneath.
