Wash down pump

I am working on my 3rd wash down pump, all of them Jabsco's. I need a "better mouse trap" this next time. I can disassemble and reassemble the Jab's in the dark. Their operational life seems to be one season...maybe.

Can anyone suggest a better brand with better results????

At this point I do not care how much they cost.

Believe it or not I have been running a shurflo blaster for the last 5 seasons with no problems, I think a good prefilter and a freshwater flush after use are reasons it has lasted so long.

Any ideas on why the pumps are failing?

Is the pump or motor or both?
Has the voltage been checked?
Correct size wire?
Left on?
Dirty Wire?
Incorrect fuse?
Run dry?
Cheap?
POS?

:)

Jabsco has had reliability issues for many years, ITT fluid products owns them and they just don't seem to care to build good pumps under $200 or entry level toilets either
Their high priced items are somewhat better
I have had solid performance with Flojet and they stand behind them. Well made and reliable
I wouldn't fit Jabsco items aboard Kerri On

Primarily a POS in all cases. THey are all used in saltwater.
Wiring proper, flushed each fall if they last that long, fused corectly, not run dry etc.
I may give the flojet a try if I can't get my present Jabsco going again. I have 3 so there are plenty of parts to interchange.
Thx all for the suggestions.
