I don't really know, CM.  All of the many times I have made the trip to see you, the sheer joy of being in your company has made the distance insignificant.

But of course. What's a bunch of miles when we're talkin' pals?
 
You ain't gonna believe it. I mean, who would of thunk it?? The beer guy hasn't made it yet, but the wine guy did. Amazing how we do these things. Also had a surprise showing of a few folks we didn't expect. Very nice surprise. The wind is blowing, and the rain is falling sideways, but nobody even cares (may be due in part to the wine guy, I'm not sure). Anyhow, we might go fishing in the morning. Might not. Who cares. What a great bunch of people.

Pat - I know you'll check this before you leave, so here's some more helpful hints.

When you come into Astoria on Hwy. 30, just keep on going through town - two-way, then one-way for a while, then back to two-way - and stay on the same road. When you go past and under the bridge across the Columbia (it's a big sucker - you'll see it coming), you are getting close to the bridge to my house. When you get to the roundabout (hey - that's what they call the ridiculous thing), it will put you right on the Youngs Bay bridge. Go across it, and turn right at the first light, which is just off the end of the bridge. Follow that road (Harbor Drive) for a little over a mile until you see a small bridge coming up. Just before you go onto that bridge, there is a small road to the left. Turn left on it and you will circle down past the Tackle Time bait shop, go under that same small bridge you didn't go over, and be in the parking lot for the marina. Then find a place to park on the far side of it, and walk down the first ramp you see to the docks. You'll see all the CDs, plus a few folks you know very well but probably weren't expecting to see.

If we do go out fishing, the TyBoo at least won't be leaving the dock until 10:00 am. So, you're welcome to go along, and will also be welcome on the Helen O, I'm sure.

Any problems anywhere along the way, call me on my cell phone. If I don't answer, which is typical, call El or Bill or Roger or Lisbeth or Tim or Larry or Jon or Cynthia or Fred or Robbin. Oops - I gave away the surprise, didn't I?

We probably won't bother going out to the ocean. Predicted combined seas of 15' at 9 seconds. If you really want to go outside, maybe we can get you a ride on the bar pilot boat.

I understand you'll be staying in some friends' camper, and that's probably a good idea because you might not weigh enough to hold a tent down. If Austin wants to stay at our house with his durn dog, we would enjoy that.

WOW! Now that was a great get together. Bill and El, I sure enjoyed meeting you both. I hope you will stay in touch one way or another. I really enjoy reading about your adventures and now I can say I enjoyed meeting you both even more so.
Great food, freat refreshments great time!
I enjoyed meeting some that I had not met before and seeing those that I had seen at prior functions. Jesse had a great time too.
Looking forward to the next one..
 
OK, it's a wrap. Halcyon is on the trailer heading for Tim's house in Cannon Beach, Helen O is on the trailer heading for Larry's house in Cathlamet, and TyBoo is back at the dock after giving Brock a scenic cruise out to the mouth or the Columbia.

Thanks so much to all the folks who drove so far to make this unofficial CBGT about as official as they get. What a great bunch of people.

What a great way to spend the afternoon, twas a quality B.S. session. Some pretty good eats & drinks also.........Rays torched tuna tidbit tasties hit the spot
 
WOW! What a great time with all -- the great food, wine and beer was only exceeded by the wonderful people. What a marvelous family, owners of C-Dories are!! Impossible to say thanks to each and every one, but a special thanks to Tim and TyBoo for setting up one of the most wonderful experiences we've had in our lives. El, early this morning, said, with tears welling up in her eyes, "These folks are the greatest friends anyone could ever have -- they're not just friends, they're family. This has been such a wonderful time with such great folks..." Gotta admit, a few tears welled up in my eyes, too -- thanks all of you for such a wonderful, sharing, giving, time together -- a time we'll never forget and can never thank you enough -- this family ain't just a pub -- it's a family!! THANKS El and Bill on Halcyon
 
Ok, the camera challenged are waiting for all those pictures.
I missed most of it including Jon and Nurse Ratchet, dad gum it all anyway, so I am waiting patiently fer the durn pics. Well ok, maybe not quite so patiently....

The post above this one above by Mr. Fisherman is from El & Bill on our computer so it finishes up with Tim And JUDY & the Lynn Marie, it's not! That's from Bill & El and Bill also sat at our machine and posted all the Pics. that say Lynn Marie. The credit is again back to Bill who push the button, not just the camera but also the computer. There are more in here and I will try to post them after a meeting tomorrow night.
Till then a very big thank you to all who came from near and far to make this gathering so special once again. The local C-Fleet was and is impressed with the warmth and friendships that have come out of this group of people who start out sharing little more than a funny little boat. Who would have thought so much would have come from so little when they layed up that first hull so long ago. What a wonderful little boat thats let us share so very much. Amazing.

Twas a very good weekend for sure !!!!!!!!!
It totaly amazes me how a small unplanned gathering of a few can turn in to a full blown ,fly by the seat of the pants,C-Brat gathering with 14 or 15 boats represented . Granted all the boats wern't present but the Crews were all counted for.
My thanks goes out to Tyboo Mike & Kay, and to Tim & Judy for a great time.
Larry, your hospitality was exceptional with all those wine connosuers over there ...lol...
Mike, I am not sure if it was a deliberate ploy to get Lisbeth & I to find out how comfortable a 25 ft is ....lol....Well, it worked and I am hooked Hard.I just ain't gonna look at the Sensei the same any more. It is totaly amazing what a difference 10 inches makes in the beam and how much extra room was in the V-Berth.
Also a thanks to Pat for the great Snoqualimie Falls beer and to Chucks friend(I am sorry for being mentally chalenged when it comes to names) for the great Stone Wolf Vineyards wine.
I will write more later.

Running late today, will keep it brief. I had a GREAT time, ditto for Austin and Oscar - looking forward to Sturgeon Fest next June in Warrenton! Wonderful to see everyone again - the friendship is truly overwhelming. Detour to St Helens was very worthwhile, even though we had clouds and rain. My photos are up now too.
 
Thanks to everyone for a great time and warm reception (considering it was my 1st C-Brats getogether). My only regret was that Art and I had to leave Saturday before more of the gang arrived.

Oh yes, I think everybody there asked the question, "Where's Patty"? something was mentioned about her attending a wine tasting somewhere else...... and a few giggles as we sipped on our assorted case of outstanding "Stone Wolf' wines. :mrgreen: Yes, you were missed, Patty.
