wallis Question

We are anchored in Spring Garden Creek in the Lake Woodruff Wildlife Preserve off of the St. John's River, Florida. It is a beautiful wilderness area here. It will be in the upper 20's tonight. Our ice is holding up well. We're cosy in the cabin. The Wallis is keeping us comfortable. The Wallis has performed admirably for me--mostly for cooking. Now we are using it more for heat & as it runs I hear a muffled "poof" sound at about 3 second intervals. I'm wondering if you Wallis guys out there can tell me if this is normal or if something is amiss . The unit is 10 years old & has performed flawlessly for me in the 3 years I've owned the boat. As far as I know it has not received any service. I have never understood how this "flameless combustion" works.

Thanks in advance.

As a guess, that thing is getting a burst of fuel lit every now and then.
