wallas blower cover

Because we have recently installed a new heating system on Reef Madness,
I was thinking of removing the blower lid on the wallas (without removing the blower assembly). We would like to keep the cook top in place for cooking. Has anyone tried this? If so did you make a cover for the blower area? Just sitting home thinking about it and looking for a photo. We have a cutting board cover for the Wallas but it sits up rather high and thought it might be nice to have a flatter surface.

I can speak for the older model. The newer one has some changes, but I'm not sure how they affect the cover.

The short answer is: sure, you can remove the cover and blower. Just pull out the stove and remove the screws that hold the cover on. Remove the wires that go to the lid switch and tape them back, after shorting out the wires that go to the overheat switch in the cover. This will bypass the switch that you have removed with the cover. Re-install.

I removed the blower wires without removing the cover, since we never use the heat option. Instead we use one of those heat driven fans, which we can point in any direction we want. Judy wanted the cover left on, to have a place for the butane stove.

If I remember correctly, the blower/lid is actually an option, isn't it? So I mean the cooking part stoves can be sold separately (?)
