Vinyl Teak-looking flooring

I'm pretty sure that the bridgedeck/step area at the door and the foot/storage area at the helm are Starboard on my 2005, but I will check them tomorrow to see for sure. Great! Another big project just when I thought I was ready for the season!

David: check for an email from me.

The bridgedeck/step just inside my door, the area under the dinette table and the area underfoot at the helm are all Starboard on my 2004 CD22. Well, actually, the bridgedeck was Starboard and has been reworked and is now an Ocume marine plywood lid and the Starboard is in the garage! Nothing sticks well to Starboard but mechanical fastening like screws does fine. Not sure that will work so well with the plastic teak & holly.

Jim, Davis and all,

I just went out to Valkyrie and found (using my new LED Sensibulbs) that those areas are Starboard on our 2005 boat. Looks like they stay factory white.

Any long term reviews on the vinyl "wood" flooring? Cracking? Fading? If I end up with another CD I'm definitely gonna do the floor with some type of "faux wood". Love the look!

We have had ours (PlasTeak)for about eight years and it's just like new. Now surprising, as it has a lifetime warranty.

Great. So you recommend PlasTeak then? I noticed there were a few different companies with similar products. Thanks for the quick reply.
(oh, btw. Nice photo album. You've got some great pics in there. I couldn't look at them all though!)

I spoke with Sue, the office manager at PlasTeak and PlasDeck, at the boat show in Cleveland last weekend. Oddly, PlasDeck amd PlasTeak have separate websites; one is made for interior and the other is thicker for exterior. I think Nick on Valkyrie has used the interior product both inside and out, though, and is happy with it (it is under cover much of the time). I plan to add it to my 22 as soon as the weather lets me make templates. They will sell you a clear template material but Sue said cardboard templates would be OK; paper templates tend to wrinkle and get inaccurate so they don't like them. The company is just a few miles from me and it will be easy to manage it.

It would be nice if the PlasDeck came in wider sheets. I like the thickness and the non slip surface (both inside and out). However, I would like to be able to have just one piece that could be removed rather than multiple strips that need to be attached.

I would like to put it in the cockpit and in the center aisle (if the price is reasonable).

Right now I have a piece of carpet in the aisle (came with the boat) and floor mats from HD in the cockpit. The price of these will be very hard to beat though.

Don't know if Seadek is in the budget; I bought the step kit for $30 and found it worth every penny. They are exterior pieces and have held up nicely to wear & tear and all sorts of chemicals (deck cleaner, rust remover, black streak remover...).

Be warned it's not cheap, but they can do a custom job and it's nice on the feet/back. Here's a sample $ link.
