Victoria Boat Show

Took in the Victoria Boat Show last night. Mighty small compared to Seattle or Vancouver but it was good. Port Boat House brought down a 22 Cruiser which was getting some attention but not alot of people there as it was a miserable night. Today and Sunday should be better. I spent a bit of time with the Scotty rep talking about the new trap puller they have and was rewarded with a couple of tumblers I will fill with my favourite beverage once the season starts. :beer
Cheers

Good for Port Boat House. I would have considered going up to Victoria for a day for that if I had known earlier. Maybe next time.

I popped in for an hour on Friday evening on my way up to Campbell River for the weekend. I had a good chat with Mike from Port Boat House as well. I also saw the Scottish folks and got a tumbler and downrigger key chain. I would have bought one of the trap pullers if I had not already bought a Brutus one... I enjoyed the show and was happy to see a CD22 there. It was last year's show that was responsible for me getting Natural C - lection! The coolest boat there was the beach landing RIB with 3 hydraulic powered atv wheels. It can land through surf!

I have known John for years as he is a legendary sea kayaker. It was good to chat with him as the last time was a year or so ago at his place on Vargas Island.

I also thought it was a good small boat/fishing show. I always enjoy chatting with the PBH guys. They really are a class act. Mike told me that the 22 was probably sold and they had a Venture on the way. The CD's are selling well but as everyone knows the higher end stuff like Ranger is the market that is hotter right now. I was very impressed with the fit and finish on the cruiser. Looks like the new CD's are well built.
