I would go to this class , and I might, but I most likelyw ill be working. The san juans are all about tides and currents. Even if you have been fishing the Sj's you should go to this class.

tonight at the Sno-King PSA meeting, 6:30 p.m. at the Edmonds Senior Center. The topics will be: Reading tides and currents in relation to structure for Chinook in the San Juan Islands, and beyond, and What can we do to combat the proposed No Go Zone on the West side of San Juan Island. My talk on Chinook fishing is different than most you'll hear. I try to get folks to think about why fish hold up and feed where they do on certain tides. That makes it more interesting and rewarding, when maybe you start finding your own spots to fish, or fish spots on a different tide that everybody else.
Should be a good time. Hope to see you there!

I'm not a fisherman but this caught my attention:

"and What can we do to combat the proposed No Go Zone on the West side of San Juan Island."

I must have missed that one in the news last month. Hate to get political on here, but banning motor boats on the W side of San Juan?!? Obviously that's a popular area to find the whales, but really so is all of the San Juans, the Puget Sound and North. Hate to think of what comes next if this passes.

Wish I could attend, but already have a prior commitment tonight..

Here's one of many articles on the topic:
