vented head

Hi,
Not wanting to seem overly critical, but it appears you have your toliet paper roll on backwards. If you leave the seat up you might be able to hit the toliet from the cockpit. This will allow you more rod time while fishing. Why didn't I think of this?
D.D.

Nice open feeling. We were disappointed to not see you in a Santa hat in this series.

Next time, before you get out the Sawzall, you might consider a solar vent. :xnaughty

Excellent thought. This could be the ultimate fighting chair for that time when you catch a fish so huge you think you might crap your pants.

Tom-

That "vented head" gives new meaning to the term "airhead", and there may be more than one in that boat from time to time....

Joe. :teeth :thup

Honestly, there are two kinds of people in the world - people who know which way toilet paper is supposed to come off the roll and those who don't!

Pat, you sure seem obsessed with this toilet roll thing... :wink

Prop pitch...single vs twins...claw or plow...paper over the top (the wrong way) or hanging down the back like Tom has it...sounds like a new poll!

Seriously, what's going on here, Tom? Are you going to put in a big window or what?

Rick

Looks like Tom is finally rebuilding the rotted out bulkhead he talked about at the factory repair semiar. And for the record, his TP is installed backwards.

Patty here. Okay, I can't stand it anymore. In a "regular" bathroom where steam might accumulate causing condensation on the wall, the toilet paper sticks to said condensation when installed "backward." Therefore, the proper way to install it is rolling forward. End o' discussion!

Yes I'm going to replace the wall. The question is with what? I'm thinking of using fiberglass board. The factory has offered to make a new wall with out wood and a fiberglass shell, covering, exterior , what ever you want to call it. That would remove the chance of rot reoccurring. Now if you look in the new album titled "vented head" you will see were the wall was. Where the water was draining down from the side deck and into the fuel tank area. This is what caused both the rot and the standing water in the foam around the tanks.

I have tried several ways to correct this and I'm still not sure what the end fix will be
This piece was covering the fuel lines and was attached to the wall with caulking but still allowed water in. I was thinking of glassing a lip to over lap this cover. hoping that I could seal this area better. Well see how it turns out

Well I'm certainly no expert but I'd use what the factory had. The foam core laminated between glass & covered in gel-coat. We've all seen what wood & water eventually do.

How does that "box" attach to the deck & wall? (the one covering the fuel hoses etc) I'd imagine that need to be somehow sealed at the seams/joints since it appears that is an entry source for water, especially towards the center/door side [of the boat], where the edge is gone. I imagine that edge once kept deck water from running down/into the bilge. Kinda hard to tell in the pics.

Plus, having it hang over the top makes folding that awesome triangle-shaped edge so much easier for Meredith. (she keeps me in the life style I have become accustomed to.... )

the short wall around the fuel lines is glassed into the deck. its missing on one side so I could get the wall out. I will replace it. It was never a way for the water to get it. expect the few times the water on deck was deeper the the wall is tall. I plan to increase the height of that wall to 6" at least.

the more I think about it the more I like the idea of over lapping the tank cover and then sealing it. I will also install a pump behind the cover incase water finds its way back in there.

Boy, I love this place.

We have the "Twins vs Single" a continual power struggle.

There is the "Inny vs Outie" and hole nother topic.

AND NOW, (drum roll here ........ ...... ... .. . . . . .
The TP Tango, is it Over or Und.......Not.

8)

I have not addressed the tp issue that has sprung up in my much more interesting vented head/ wall replacement post, so I will do so now. If its on the roll your lucky. if its not look on the floor or toilet lid and be thank full you don't have to do the pants down shuffle to the garage to get a roll. :wink
