Vancouver C-Brats?

Hi There,

New to the forums and in the process of looking for a used C-Dory 22 cruiser. I was wondering if there are any owners in the Vancouver, BC area who would be kind enough to show me their set-up before I start looking at boats I may want to purchase. Tried to see one at the Vancouver Boat Show - but no luck.

Any interest?

Thanks,

Simon

Hi Simon. The dealer at the show had no c dorys. They are in stock at the dealership in port alberni. There are more c dorys on the island. I am in Nanaimo. If you'd like to come over I'd be happy to introduce you to my 22 Kerri On. You can't go wrong with these boats. If I were you I'd pick colors and order one now! You won't miss a season on the water. Pick a blue one! Welcome aboard. George

Hi George,

Thanks for the reply and the offer. At the moment I'm not sure when I can get over to the island, but I will certainly keep your offer in mind.

Wow, beautiful boat. I do like the blue. Unfortunately, my finances have me looking at used boats, probably early 2000's vintage. I think I would prefer a single engine with a kicker, but I'm not going to get too picky.

Nice to virtually meet you and thanks again.

Simon

You are welcome Simon. Good luck with the search. Keep an eye on the boats for sale area of this site. A lot of great boats there by knowledgeable owners. A lot of these boats already know their way around our waters. George :smile

Hi Simon,

Send Dave at PBH in Pt Alberni an email. Then he has you in the system as a contact. He sometimes gets used boats in on assignment, people giving up boating or trading in their used C-dory for a new one. That's how I got mine. Check out my photo album. Good luck.

Martin.

Thanks Martin.

I will try emailing Dave at PBH. I went to see them at the boat show, but they only had Ranger Tugs.

Yours is a beauty too.

Best,

Simon

Hey Simon Just drop over to the Shuswap here and Lori & I will be happy to show our 22 cruiser 07 calender girl. Gray is most asuredly the trim colour of choice!! R

Hey Simon;
Welcome to the form, I have my boat out at Harrison Lake, It's an oldie but a goodie.
With the dollar being where it is, take a look at the boats in Washington State, just a short drive across the border.
I bought my boat from a guy there and had no issues bringing it into Canada.
If it were me ordering a boat, I'd go with burgundy
Good luck in your hunt.

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone!

It really is reassuring to have an online community like this to help out and connect.

I've been in touch with Dave at PBH in Alberni. He has a a 23 Venture coming up but no 22's. I think I really want to get a 22 because of its popularity and fuel economy (also, I dont have the vehicle to haul 5000 lbs). So I am going to keep waiting. I will certainly keep looking in the States because I would be fine picking one up down there.

Thanks for the offers - Shuswap and Harrison! I'll keep both in mind.

All the best,

Simon

Hello Simon,
If you do get over to the Island and make it over to Port Alberni, I would be glad to show you our 2005 22 cruiser. It's in a slip a stones throw from PBH.
We bought ours from Alaska when we lived in Fort St John and had no problems bringing it in. We looked for three years before we found the right one, (and its blue).
We will be out in it in the beginning of March for a fishing tournament around Bamfield.
Give us a call if you are in town.

Andrew
