v-berth "middle" cushion

My 2006 25' Cruiser does not have a cushion in the opening of the v-berth between the starboard and port cushions. (There must be a more nautical way to say that!) Did the boat originally come with that feature? Does the manufacturer carry replacements, or do you know of a good way to build one?

There should be an insert there. Nothing more than a piece of plywood covered in foam and Sunbrella to fit the space. With some measurements, any marine upholstery shop should be able to make one. Hardest part is sewing the Sunbrella fabric to fit.

Journey On came with a cushion between the port and starboard cushions. It covered the space aft of where the 2 big cushions join. There's a couple of strips fastened to the boat to hold it up and two blocks on the bottom of the cushion to hold it in place.

I assume you could call the present factory and ask from where they're getting the cushions. Or make one as suggested.

Dessert 1st came with a cushion (kind of a trapezoid shape), but the original owner replaced it with a hinged seat/board. It works very well.

In the space where a cushion would be we keep a Type IV throwable cushion.
We like the arrangement better than original.

Best,
