Trent Severn overnight/weekly parking

For those of you that have done the Trent Severn, can you give us some thoughts on where to park our truck/trailer for the 2 weeks that we will be cruising? We have contacted Cook's Marina and they have facilities for parking, but just wondering if others have more ideas.

Can you park overnight/weekly at any of the locks? Are there any public launch area's that allow long-term parking?

Thanks for your help.

We left our boat for a few weeks at Big Chute marina on the Western end of the Trent-Severn, they are very nice people, have a ramp and could probably keep you truck and trailer - it would be secure there. There aren't any ramps or launch points by the locks to my recollection. Why not put in on the North Channel, cruise through Little Current then take the small boat channel through the Georgian Bay - its a more scenic trip and no locks - you could even do that and some of the Western Trent - Severn if you don't mind locking through and the Western Trent - Severn is the nicest portion.

Thanks Eric. We spent 2 months in the North Channel a couple years back (2006) on our tug (http://www.northchannel.blogspot.com) - even though we plan another trip on the CD22, not this year.

Thanks for the info. I found that the Burleigh Falls lock has a ramp and parking lot - just don't know if they allow long-term parking.
