Transom Savers

With our Alaskan roads being slightly sub-par I'm trying to figure out a few trailering issues so that the boat survives the many miles between here and saltwater. Do any of you use a transom saver on the motor? What type of hold down straps do you use at the stern, a single over the gunwales or one on each corner. If you use a single strap, what do you use for pads to keep from marring the finish?

Hi Bearbait, I use a single strap that hooks into holes in the trailer rails. It has plastic sleeves that the strap runs through to prevent wear at the gunnels. I don't use a transom saver.
