Just an update on my alarm installation - the Scorpio alarm system has a circuit that flash's the lights on and off during arming and during a violation.
One of the "coolest" things about the Ranger is the fact they incorporated tail and marker lights in their hull. Yep, just plug in the harness in the anchor locker and your Ranger lights up for travel.
With this in mind, I wired my Scorpio alarm to the Ranger harness. You can find easy access right in the cockpit locker on the stern - port & starboard sides and behind the wall panel behind the helm. It's easy to spot the wires since Ranger used the same color code as the hitch. (brn-grn-yel).
Nice thing now should the alarm go off - the boat light's up. Another benefit should you be in the house or restaurant where you can't hear the alarm you can see the bright LED's flashing when you arm it or if there's a problem as well as warn others at night.
