After reading about brake lines and brake actuators being clogged or rusted up I thought it was worth mentioning that changing brake fluid every two or three years in both cars trucks and trailers is one of the best ways to avoid this type rust and corrosion inside your brake system. Brake fluid attracts moisture. The moisture (water) is heavier than the brake fluid and tends to lay on the bottom of actuators, wheel cylinders, calipers, etc. Just simply flushing out the old fluid and bleeding your brakes will prevent the onslaught of corrosion on the bottom of these bores for the pistons and seals that move in them. Make sure your using the recommended type of fluid that the manufacturer recommends. Happy motoring.
