Towing a 16

Installed another bow eye right at the water line and tried it out this trip. On a short tow the 16 rides right on plane and tracks straight. So far it feels lighter than the Whaler ever did (picture in -09 album) :thup Jack

jack thats great to know. Susan has the bigger boat live aboard bug but I dont want to give up on fishing. i have meet several folks that are towing 16 to 18 ft fishing boats behind their 32 to 40 ft cruisers. One guy had a 17ft kingfisher with a 90hp outboard behind his 32 bayliner. towes it to the west coast of vancouver island twice a year. another guy had a 15 arima behind his chb. Having a mother ship to fish from would be great.

Tom,
We're in Greenway Sound right now. Most of the way we traveled at 7-8 knots to conserve fuel. We pushed up to our cruising speed of 12 knots just to cross the straits and run rapids. If I ever change the name of the C-Dory it will be to "Pull Toy"...It's been a delight to own. :smiled :thup Jack

PS If you ever decide to add the extra bow eye, you have to make about a 10' lead and leave it attached, as the lower eye is a bear to reach in the water. The anchor nailed me a couple of times before I GOT SMART. :embarrased
