Tom Cat Instrument Panel canvas cover

Has anyone replaced the canvas cover that fits behind the instrument panel on a Tom Cat, and hides all the wiring, etc., with something more solid and child proof?

If so, it would be helpful to hear what you did and how you did it. Some photos of the work would also be welcome.
