token SeaRay

B~C

Well, we've just about finished on-loading most of the accomodating equipment and personal items required for a floating home/bordello/assylum (sic).

Can't believe the checklist. Started at 161 items, and then I lost count! Reminds me of a recurring, endless, entrapment dream! Unfortunately, however, not of the sexual variety!

AND I'm on a treadmill down to the boat and back with 92 steps! Think each round trip takes 3 months off the end of my life. Will have to quit this soon and take up smoking, which will be a lot less life shortening.

Once it's all on board, I'll have to sell the house, as all the stuff will be on the
Sea Ray instead. I'm hiring a diver to draw on the new waterline as we speak.

I'm taking the C-Dory to Eagle Lake for trout fishing this weekend, Sat.-Tues.
Staying in a lakefront motel at almost $200/night. The fishing's hot, with the big Eagle Lake Rainbows right up in the shallows and tules. The mornings should be crisp at 5.200 ft elevation. Mike will have nothing on me with his cold wind and rain!

I'll be pulling the Sea Ray out when we get back to have all the service work done on the engines, outdrives, etc. The mechanic/technician owns his own service business and has serviced this boat in the past exclusively from it's first launch. Inspires a nice feeling of confidence for me.

How are you doing with your half of the task, namely recruiting young college age girls for our financial adventure? Doing some interesting "interviews"?

Joe.

man, you're working to hard for being retired. I've been just to durn busy for recruiting, besides, things are different in Longview, are teeth required?

That fishing junked sounds like it will be fun. Ouch, rooms sure have gotten expensive over the years haven't they. Back in the old days we used to rent a room for two, pack about ten peeps in there and it woked out to about a buck a piece

What does that vessel have for a an engine?

It's got twin 205 hp V-6 Mercruiser outdrives for a total of 410 gas guzzling hp that, combined with the 22 degree deep-V hull, cut through and crush any chop. waves, or wakes found on this placid pond called Shasta Lake at 35 mph.

What's really mind-boggling, though, is that this 6400 lb (dry) wave gang-banger is MONSTROUS inside, has every option of any C-Dory and even the new C-Ranger 25, is incredibly well built, and will have cost me under $20,000 totally after all service work is complete. I think I need to check with THE DEVIL to see if he's made a deal with me I don't quite remember!

Joe.

Yes, ahem, well, the Devil's deal is 0.25 miles per gallon or so I would imagine, right?

Well, since I don't remember THE DEAL, I don't rightly know!

I have read somewhere about an 8-10 gal per hr cruise rate, which at 20 mph would equal 2.5-2.0 mpg, which might seem about right.

I hope it's not 8-10 gal per hr PER ENGINE!

I haven't really run the boat long enough at cruise speeds to work out the fuel consumption yet, prefering to wait until the periodic engine and outdrive (I/O)
work is completed.

I also plan to cruise mostly at displacement speeds, not planing speeds.

Believe It Or Not #444: Chris (service tech.) said he put Pettit Trinidad anti-fouling paint (74% copper) on the boat the last time, and he considers it a life-time paint job and would touch it up on any worn spots from beaching for free! (Devil's Deal #2 ?)

Joe.
