Yeah, I thought that was interesting as well.
I like the 140 a lot. But we have chosen to go with the Yamaha 150 and a Yamaha 9.9 kicker. yes, it's heavier. I don't want it for top speed in a C-Dory obviously.
I like the idea of lower RPM running. Meaning maybe a little more quieter than a 140 but probably a mute point. Pun intended
I've read the 140 leans to the weaker side of the HP range and the 150 Yamaha to the upper end. Lots more torque. I'm just in the mindset of having a little extra power when needed would not hurt. I'll give up a little fuel usage but not much, I've been told they are pretty close unless you're out running WOT all the time. Then I guess you can afford it.
Lower PRM's always better for an engine in my book. Again, probably a mute point. All these engines are so good these days. I Used to work for Yamaha a long time ago and there is a little loyalty there
As far as weight to power ratio I still think the Yamaha has a slight advantage in the power category. I think the Suzuki is a great motor for sure. I find no faults with it at all. I'm thinking better serviceability in Canada and Alaska with the Yamaha.
Believe me, I'm on the fence daily between these two engines

We've worked out all the details and deposit funds are on the way to the dealer. We feel extremely blessed to be able to purchase a new boat. Of course we'll selling our house too, buts that's a different story...haha....
