Our beloved c-dory sold this past weekend.

My family had a super great last trip to Homer/Sedlovia/Halibut Cove. Upon returning to the Homer docks, I had arranged a perspective buyer appointment.

It was so symbolic for me to sell the boat at the docks to such a great buyer. This is going to seem funny, but when the final transaction hand shake happened, 9 C-Dorys showed up at the docks, it was so weird, like a CDory "goodbye".

Also my 8 year old balled her head off for hours that her boat had sold, and even now two days later, she has not recovered. Dropped in a pic of her hugging the boat goodbye.

Thanks C-Brats for all your great help and friendship, you guys are great!!!

Thanks for posting the follow up. I love the extra picture! I added to the title and moved it to the General forum for a while so folks don't miss it. After a while we'll put it in the sold archives.

Remember - not only are you welcome to stick around here, you aren't really even allowed to leave. Tell your little girl she gets to keep the big C-Brat family.

Thanks for being with us.

Having sold a few boats in the past, I can totally relate to how you and your daughter feel about the sale/loss of the boat. Not all boats are the same, but every once in a while you have a boat that is like a family member and saying goodbye is very hard.

"Pingu" is still in our hearts.

BTW, I would love to see the photo of your daughter saying goodbye but I couldn't find it on the site.

Regards,

Yes nice story. I also couldn't find the photo of your daughter hugging the boat and would like to see that. I remember my son crying when we sold an old car that we had for the first 6-8 years of his life. It's funny what kinds of things kids get attached to.

That's funny - the attached image carried over for me just fine. I will save it and upload it back into this thread.
