How nice to see the site back to as close to normal as this bunch of wackos can be. Questions about anchor line, blisters, planing, boat stuff etc. No flames, no ideological pronouncements. Yahoo!!

My not so new ploy, because I have slipped on occasion, is when I see something that I know is "not for the good of the order" I will not respond, reply or otherwise give the poster any thought. If no one responds to drivel, it will just die.

IDK, but in another thread someone suggested a spare prop in a smaller diameter or pitch. Any ideas on why you would not just replicate the installed prop?

Two possibilities:

I think the suggestion that the spare prop be of a lower pitch was for boats with twin engines, so that if one engine koncked out, the other could be changed to a lower pitch prop so it wouldn't lug so much, and might have a better chance of planing the boat with just the one engine.

Also, even with a single engine, having a spare prop of lower pitch would give you the option of installing that prop when heavily loading the boat.
