Marlyn and I are in the consideration stage for taking the 800 mile canal circle route through NY and Canada this summer, Aug, Sept.

Any advice or interest on the part of others?? We've read the Halcyon info.

Tom

Hey, if you find yourself on the Champlain Canal anytime in August, a stop at Shuylerville is a must! Its just a couple of miles from there to Saratoga Springs. The summer racing meet will be in full swing. You are likely to find he Admiral and Your's Truly trackside.

Hi Tom,
Penny and I are planning to trailer back that way this summer. We've a commitment in Louisville, KY until Aug 2, then we're thought we'd head north to the Erie Canal until things get cold, then start moving south as weather dictates. We'd probably won't be heading home before Turkey Day.

At this point our plans are quite loose and tying in with some other C-brats sounds very interesting.

That sounds like such a great trip. Kathie and I have been talking about it since we first read your post about planning it. At the very least we will meet up with you along the canal and travel as far as Oswego. Our boat will be in Seneca Lake and we will be comimg from the west. Any more time will depend on our kids and grand children visiting and their vacation dates.

If are any others interested in the trip and launching near us we can find room at our place for the tow vehicles and trailers. Are you still looking at putting in at Ilion?

To All,

We will be in Louisville until about July 15 or so. We will then head to Norwich to spend a day or two with Marlyn's mother. From there we will head to Rich's, I'm guessing about July 20, but our plans can be flexible if we need to accommodate other's schedules.

We will post and contact you both before arriving in NY.

We'd be glad to have any of you meet us and travel with us for a while.

Thanks for your interest!

Tom

Serously, our plans will have us on the Champlain Canal the week of August 17. A trip to the races in definatly on the agenda, so c'mon out to the track! The track is dark on Tuesdays, so thats a good day to check out the National Museum of racing, or if golf is your thing then you cant miss the Saratoga National Course.

There is all kinds of dining, nite life, white water rafting, horseback riding..just about any distraction one can think of...its a place of great fun, and we wont miss it...love to meet new freinds. will post more details as the cruise gets closer on the calander.
