The Perfect Prop?

I have a 2015 Suzuki DF90 on my 22 cruiser. I am not sure I am happy with the stock prop that it came with. I am on a quest to figure out the best prop that will give me the best performance. I know there are a LOT of physics and variables that go into determining this, and I am hoping there are C brats out there who have theirs dialed in who can give recommendations. The main thing I am looking for is a prop that will give me the lowest rpm's at cruising speed (20 mph) give or take. I don't normally have much weight on the boat, and I don't care about going 0-60 in 6 seconds. I will be in the ocean 90% of the time. Also, what are the main advantages of a stainless steel prop other than the strength? Does a 4 blade prop have any advantages vs. a 3 blade?

Supposedly a SS prop performs better because of the strength. It deforms less under load and you can have finer blade shapes. On the other hand a SS prop is less likely to deform when it hits something, transferring the impact to the drive train.

IMO, an AL prop is a better choice in areas where prop impacts (debris, rocks, groundings) are more likely to occur. Better to sacrifice the prop than the engine.

You can fix dings in an AL prop with a file. I don't think you can do the same with a SS prop.

I switched to a 4 blade last summer. More reverse thrust, better around the docks. When loaded heavy it gives more stern lift - easier to plane at lower speeds. Better fuel economy. Faster TTP - if your holeshot is of importance.

I bought a Turning Point 2 piece prop by Hustler. Their "squeeze cast" process claims to give stainless performance at aluminum prices. Dropped down 2 inches in pitch. Love it.
