"The Importance of Being Earnest"

This evening I had the pleasure of attending the play "The Importance of Being Earnest" at the Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie. Austin Anderson (son of Pat and Patty) proved to be a stellar actor as he portrayed the wealthy Algernon Mencrieff in this play by Oscar Wilde. The drama students at Mount Si H.S. should be very proud of themselves for tonight's performance!

Patty here. Thanks, Dave, for enjoying the play with us and supporting Austin. We think the high school production was better than the Issaquah professional production (no bias here)!!! We look forward to seeing it again Saturday night with friends and family. Lydia and Conor are flying in to surprise Austin who turns 18 that day also.
 
Catman, you should make every effort to see the show. The students have put on a superb performance and have a done a great job with their set design and construction. Makes you proud of the new generation! :thup
 
Well, The Importance of Being Earnest closed Saturday night. Daughter Lydia and son-in-law Conor flew in from Denver for a whirlwind weekend to see Austin's performance. Thanks to Jim and Laurie of Laurna Jo for making the trek out to support Austin! And thanks again to Dave of Sea Shift for coming out opening night! At the conclusion, after the cast called their faculty director up and presented her flowers, the cast and audience sang "Happy Birthday" to Austin - it was his 18th birthday, which is pretty hard for us to comprehend, more than a few C-Brats have watched him grow up over annual visits to one or another CBGT over the last 6 years!

Your posts about the play have brought back a flood of good memories. I was in that play when I was 18 many years ago, although I can't recall the name of the character I played. I think it was the bad guy (that would have been in character I guess). Had almost forgotten that very neat experience. That was the first and last time I did anything like this. Obviously Hollywood or Broadway did not have scouts in my audience. Thanks.

I'm so sorry I missed it. I dashed off to see Marriage of Figuro Friday night at McCaw Hall, and didn't have internet access till today. Thank you for your posts, though.

I'm really glad the show went so well for Austin and his team, and I wish him a great big happy birthday!
