I am a bit late on posting this: As many will remember you coached me thru the repower-questions. Thought I would provide some feedback> and overdue thanks.
First of all EQ Marine, Matt at Kitsap and Toms Outboard were all very helpful with estimates and information prior to actual work.
Les and Kathy at EQ made me an offer that I could not refuse plus they offered a great consignment option to sell my Honda 75.
Carl at EQ did the set up = and he knew the boat well from when he set it up originally. He has been there ten years.
I repowered with a new Honda 90 and added a 9.8 Tohatsu kicker on Port side with electric tilt and start. I choose the Tohatsu due to comments on this site about lighter wt, cost, durability. They moved the swim step, patched the old holes and fixed a small fiberglass defect in transom [above water line]. At launch we discovered that I was due for new batteries as well.
They used my old Honda throttle, dash, dials and added new ignition warning lights.
Wow - its a different boat. It will really get up and go. Nice not figuring out choke on the Honda -it just starts and runs so quiet. I love having a kicker that is out of water except for emergency or trolling - still breaking in the kicker [first twenty hours]. 3-5 knots
Carl did great work and Les and Kathy set the stage. I am amazed at the RayMarine autopilot and how valuable it is [low speeds] and storm conditions -
