TC255 Building Photos...

I would like pictures if you could! My water tank though is in the stbd sponson, forward of the fuel tank and the shower drain well/pump aparatus.

I'll be at the factory bash for SBS08 and plan to take pix of a hull before they put the deck on it and after the tanks/pumps are in place if they have one in the right stage of construction!

Anyone know if the sponsons are cored in the bottom/sides? I'm mounting a thru hull xducer at the stern forward/aft of the bilge pump on the stbd side.

Charlie,

In current models, there is a sunken portion of the floor where no balsa core was put in. It was placed there to allow thru the hull transducer installation and is accessible on all the models except the ones with a livewell.

Unfortunately, I had ordered a livewell and that blocks access to the intended thru-hull mounting location.

If you can't see that depression, call the factory and ask them if your boat was built with that thru-hull in mind.

Thanks John. Would it be in the starboard sponson? A bilge pump is there but I haven't looked closely for a "depression". I will.

Yes, on the inside of the Starboard sponson...

The only non cored area in the bottom of my Tom Cat is in the aft end of the starboard pontoon.

Roger--if they are using a non carbon containing rubber--I would hope that someone from the fractory would step up and state exactly what is used.

From the issues I have seen from the two C Dory products (after the 22) I currently own, I can make no assumptions that proper techniques were used. Many of the current changes which have been made to make these boats better are a direct result of our questioning how the boats were built--and commenting on the defects.

Sea Duck--thanks--This is basically how I am planing on putting in my second tank--and from your description, I suspect that they are still using the same tank as was used on the Stb side.

Bob,

I REALLY appreciate your input on this site. I'm not worried about assuming that proper techniques were used but rather assuming the opposite - e.g. that proper techniques were not used. I think we can assume neither.
