TC255 and Floating debris

Even the most vigilant boater has hit floating debris. Most of the time it just rolls to the side of the hull.
With the twin hulls of the TC255, does any river debris get caught between the hulls ?

If you are on plane there is an open wind tunnel all the way through. I have gone straight over lobster buoys (not on purpose) without a sound or scratch.

If you are not planed off the aft section cups the water a bit.
 
Speaking of debris, coming across to Seattle on the ferry yesterday, I have never seen as much debris in the water as we did then. First 2 miles, you could have walked on the flotsam.

Even at hull speed it would have been a challenge, let alone the hair flattening :| eyelash curling :roll: breathtaking speed :mrgreen: of the TomCat's.

If you are in enough debris to cause a problem with trappen under the wing deck, I would be worried about the lower units of the outboards.

We have run through moderate areas of debris, and had some go between the hulls with no problem, when on a plane. I would not worry much more about that than on a mono hull.

Harvey, if I'm not mistaken the reason for all of that flotsam is because of the extremely high tides that we had a week ago. (The high tides were catching all the logs that have collected in the past on the shores and river banks). Jetty Island in Everett was covered by water more than I'd ever seen, and the Navy Ships in Everett looked as if they were almost resting on top of the dock. The amount of flotsam coming down the river was sooo bad that the Everett Marina had a small work boat dragging some of the logs that were caught on the "upriver" side of the vessels moored along the river at the marina.
