Taking Pictures 101

Well...I finally got my first WA halibut.

And, while this is far from a brag - the thing was just a tad under 13 lbs. soaking wet - I will take this opportunity to perform a public service announcement. That is, the right and wrong way to photograph fish. Yes - this is the same fish.

Wrong Way

Right Way

I'm glad to assist fishing exaggerators everywhere.

Whatever it takes, Bill, whatever it takes. I'll post the "right way" in our album.

Just to dispell any rumors, no, he didn't need the fighting belt.

It was great fun having you onboard Foggy Dew today. Man, am I ever burnt! SPF 50? HA! My ears are going to fall off.

See, Bill, just move here and the fish get bigger, and bigger.

Now, since you're here we'd sure enjoy seeing you at Friday Harbor (and you can bring Foggy Dew too).

It's about 5 minutes from the pan right now, Dusty! Just gotta figure out what to toss in with it. Beer and garlic are on the list so far...maybe add some butter and call it good.

And, here's my most awesome host for the day. I'd call him my guide, but given the above pics are all we have to show for a day on the water that would be cruel. Dude picked his attire perfectly...it was as close to the Bahamas in the PNW as we'll likely see for some time.

I will just have to get home from Canada and show you guys how it is done....lol
Glad you had a good day. Can't wait til next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and with my luck there will be a Gale warning. I wish it could be 11 months a year like Kodiak. I remember Rick and I breaking ice with the old Foggy Dew....colder than hell but we were always out there.
