Hi! I have some problems with the stuff i've bought. The
Suzuki 4" smis gauge is not working (from the very beginning). It is
connected correctly like in manual, and nobody knows nothing about
this problem. The engine is Suzuki DF140 (2004 year). In Russia our
service men don't know this gauge. Only the backlight is on, and the
gauge is working but it seems that there is no data received from the
engine. Some guys sad that i need to connect the gauge to PC and
upgrade the firmware especially for my engine but I read nothing about
it. I really don't know what to do, you are the last who can help me!
I admire your help.

Evgeny, Russia.

Welcome to C-Brat's!

I'm trying to recall when Suzuki switched over to NMEA 2000 (required protocol from your engine to allow the SMIS gauges to work). For some reason I thought it was 2007 engines and newer but I could be mistaken. Hopefully some others will chime in!

Evgeny, first of all, welcome to the C-Brats. I believe you are the first Russian to log in!

Here is a LINK to information on connecting the SMIS gauges to the Suzuki engines. I have Suzuki 115's but they are 2001 models (first year made) and they will not work with those gauges.

Hope this helps you, please let us know!

До свидания и удачи!

Charlie

I believe you have to go in to the gauge programing and tell it witch motor. It is in the manual just not to clear. I had to try 2 or 3 times to get mine to work.
